- Develop membership and marketing programs and systems to support strategic direction
- Partners with management team to ensure the best possible service and effective communications to AMA membership
Membership Vice President
Effectively develop annual membership and marketing plans to support the American Motorcyclist Association strategic plan.
Direct implementation of plans to acquire a substantial membership base that meets AMA goals.
Provide leadership to develop and maintain effective, measurable member recruitment and retention plans.
Identify opportunities and trends to grow membership.
Ensure marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and meet organizational expenditure requirements.
Oversee and direct market research, membership retention and member customer service.
Evaluate member benefits, identify areas of need, and manage acquisition of new member benefits.
Establish member feedback mechanisms.
Collaborate with and build strong relations with AMA support departments.
Marketing, Membership, Magazine and Business Development will report to this position.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated ability to lead people
Ability to think ahead and plan over 1-5 year period
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Strong member/customer service orientation
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Problem analysis and resolution at strategic and functional levels
Commitment to company vision, mission and values
Association and non-profit membership marketing experience essential
Enthusiasm a must
Motorcycle enthusiast a plus
Education/Experience
Bachelors degree in related field. MBA a plus
10 years minimum experience

10 years experience in association membership marketing, preferably in the non-profit sector. Experience in associations whose activities are related to recreation, sports, or entertainment would be beneficial, but not necessary.
Proven expertise in multi-channel marketing techniques, activities and platforms, such as: direct mail, direct email, one on one marketing, word of mouth, social networking, event marketing, public relations, sponsorship, advertising and barter. |
